TSETSKHLADZE

Mamuka Tsetskhladze (b. 1960) is a defining figure of the contemporary Georgian avant-garde and a member of the influential 1980s Tenth Floor artistic movement. Graduating from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1986, Tsetskhladze quickly became a driving force in the post-Soviet art scene, advocating for monumental, expressive, and non-commercial art forms.

His monumental works, such as the historic 1988 canvas The Tiger, have been exhibited internationally, including at UNESCO in Paris. Today, Tsetskhladze’s paintings are held in prominent public and private collections worldwide, including the Georgian National Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art Tbilisi, and collections across the Vatican, Germany, Italy, and the United States.
